Join us at The Presque Isle Community Library for a free book talk on Friday, September 21st at 5:00 PM with Kathy Flanigan.
Kathy Flanigan wrote the book, Beer Lover’s Wisconsin: Best Breweries, Brewpubs and Beer Bars. She spent three months and all her vacation days traveling the state visiting more than 100 breweries. Her full-time job is working as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She covers the culture of craft beer and breweries and is part of the team Beer Near, an interactive guide to the state’s breweries. Despite the dedication in the book, her husband’s name is not Jim.
It all started when Kathy wrote one story about women and beer, which shouldn’t have been a big deal. According to Kathy, women were the first brewers of beer. She talks about this and other beer stories in her blog at www.wisconsinbeerbook.com.
Kathy will be talking about her book and her travels, along with Wisconsin beer. After the presentation she will answer questions from the audience. The Friends of the Library will be providing refreshments.
