Popular local speaker John Bates regularly inspires his audiences to look more closely at where they live, and his forthcoming book on Wisconsin’s old-growth forests does the same. Discover where to explore these forests, as well as the importance of old-growth in our state and what we can do to preserve and protect old-growth on the local and state level. Join John for a discussion of what these ancient forests mean to us, not only for recreation, but philosophically. John’s previous titles, including Graced by the Seasons, have inspired many to learn more about northwoods ecology and their place in it.
