Victoria Houston is the author of Dead Spider, the latest in the Loon Lake Mystery Series set in the Northwoods of Wisconsin against a background of fishing. Houston was born and raised in Rhinelander, WI, in the heart of the fishing culture that backgrounds her mysteries. She grew up fishing for walleye and bluegills and muskie, and learned to fly fish at the age of fifty. After a decade of magazine and newspaper feature writing, she directed promotion and publicity for Andrews & McMeel/Universal Press Syndicate and later worked in public relations. Houston moved back to Rhinelander in 1996 (having been gone for over 30 years) where she hunts, fishes and writes mysteries.
